February Adventures @ Franklin!

Getting ready for March Break with Winter Carnival activities.

Students chose activities including skiing, snowshoeing, making ice cream, reading by an outdoor fire, and even fatbikes! Our fat bike activity was supported by our “Skating, Swimming, and Snow Fun – We’re moving our muscles!” program, carried out in partnership with Loisir et Sport Montérégie thanks to financial assistance from the Government of Quebec, as part of the Financial Assistance Program for Local and Regional Physical Activity Initiatives.

Nutrition Month

A paper was sent home in your child’s agenda with information about upcoming activities to celebrate Nutrition Month at Franklin. For your convenience, a copy is also provided by email and here. Here are a couple of important reminders:

  • There will be a free hot lunch this Monday, March 17, as well as next Monday, March 24.
  • Starting next week, we will be encouraging students to choose a healthy snack (such as fruit, vegetables, or a dairy product) for their first snack of the day. This is a wonderful opportunity to talk to your child about the benefits of eating a nutritious snack.

Thank you for your continued support!
