Mme. Raithby and I participated in several workshops about the Zones of Regulation last year. We have begun using this program with the students in the classroom. The students learn to identify which zone they are in and are taught strategies to help them when they are in each zone.
When in the RED zone students experience intense emotions. (mad or mean)
When in the YELLOW zone students begin to experience intense emotions but are still in control. (frustrated or excited)
When in the BLUE zone students have low energy that makes it hard for them to focus 100% of their energy on a task. ( sad or sick).
When in the GREEN zone students are calm and can focus on what they are doing. (happy or ready to learn).
